RS 5 Cabriolet
RS 7 Sportback
Audi R8 RWS debuted at the international autumn Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017. The model is positioned as a more driver modification, and its prefix means "Rear Wheel Series". She received a rather unusual technical stuffing, a retouched interior and a unique design. To distinguish this version from the standard will not be difficult. A large hexagonal grille rushes into his eyes. It is painted in black matte color and consists of many small plastic cells. Behind the side windows are small glossy inserts, and on the doors you can see the plastic pads in the body color. Moreover, for an additional fee, the manufacturer can apply elegant longitudinal strips to the body. In general, the car has received several pleasant cosmetic changes, which best emphasize its non-standard layout.
Audi Er 8 is a sport mid-engine two-seater, produced in two versions: a coupe and a roadster. Its overall dimensions are: length 4426 mm, width 1940 mm, height 1240 mm, and wheelbase - 2650 mm. The ground clearance is quite small, only 100 millimeters. Such a low ground clearance, coupled with a good weight distribution, gives the model tremendous handling. It is perfectly prepared for races on racing tracks, but it can also move along public roads.
In comparison with its all-wheel drive relative, RWS has received several notable changes. The mass balance along the axes slightly shifted in favor of the rear and is 40.6: 59.4. In addition, the engineers made changes in the algorithms of the steering and adaptive suspension, and the stabilization system received a special mode, designed to pass the turns in a controlled skid.
The car received the engine from the standard model, a seven-step preselective robotic box of variable gears and an exclusively rear-wheel drive. Despite the reduced functionality, in comparison with the all-wheel drive model, engineers assure that this version is managed much more fun and interesting.
The engine of the Audi R8 RWS is a large gasoline atmospheric V10 with a volume of 5204 cubic centimeters. Despite the lack of a supercharging system, an innovative gas distribution mechanism coupled with a solid displacement allowed the engineers to squeeze out 540 horsepower at 7,800 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6500 crankshaft per minute. In comparison with the basic version, RWS lost a bit in dynamics. Due to loss in the clutch, the car accelerates to a hundred for 3.7 (+ 0.2 seconds) seconds and maximizes 320 kilometers per hour. With such a herd and power, one should not rely on profitability. The fuel consumption will be 19 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers at the city traffic, 8.6 liters on the highway and 12.4 liters of fuel per hundred in a mixed cycle.
RWS is a brand new model for the German manufacturer. She has a dynamic and memorable design, which can best emphasize the individuality and status of its owner in society. Such a car will look great both on public roads and on a racing track. Salon is the realm of exclusive finishing materials, sports ergonomics and comfort. Despite the "hot" temper of the model, even a long trip should not cause unnecessary inconvenience. The manufacturer perfectly understands that the heart and soul of each supercar is its engine. That is why, the model is equipped with an excellent power unit, which is the quintessence of innovative technologies and the legendary German quality. Audi R8 RWS is able to give a lot of emotions to a true fan of driving.
