The model, which was produced from 2005 to 2011, is famous for its high survivability - many copies are very vigorous even after 200,000 kilometers. You can pick up a good option for little money, just be afraid of cars with a taxi past.

FLAWS

There are many weak points in the electrical part: locks and power windows, seat heating, heating system, license plate lighting, lamps often burn out.

The manufacturer recommends only good fuel (for gasoline engines).

Some motors are prone to oil burn.

Chrome-plated body parts do not tolerate winter well.

ENGINES

The ancient 100-horsepower Zetec 1.6 is recognized as the most reliable and durable, and more often it was chosen in combination with an automatic transmission. The 1.4 motor also has no inherent flaws, but due to its low power, it is usually “twisted” more, which affects the resource. The engines 1.8 and 2.0 of the Duratec family have an “eternal” timing chain drive (it runs 200,000 km). Both are big oilers. The 1.8 engine is also "suddenly unstable" due to unfinished ECU firmware.

Resembling engines require vigilant monitoring of the oil level.

Shock absorbers, wheel bearings, stabilizer struts can be considered consumables.

The converter lives less than the “average for the hospital”, and its failure can lead to the death of the motor.

The usual power steering for versions with engines 1.4 and 1.6 is prone to the accumulation of condensate; during frost, the bypass valves may fail, which leads to a leak.

In a used Focus, it is useful to check the stove in all modes.

A whistling motor is a signal of imminent death.
