The Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan manufactured by the American company Chrysler. For the first time it was presented at the Motor Show in New York in 2003 as a concept car. In addition to the USA, it is also sold in Australia and Europe (under the Lancia brand - "Lancia Thema" since 2011).
The new generation of the "300" model (in some countries it was referred to exclusively as "300C") replaced the Chrysler 300M - a full-size sedan, manufactured from 1998 to 2004. It was executed in four versions: 300 (base) with the volume of the engine of 2,7 l. and 6 cylinders; Touring or Limited - 3.5 liters. V6 (249-253 hp); 300С - 5,7 l. V8 (340 hp); SRT-8 (top) - 6.1 liters. V8 with a capacity of 425 liters. from.
This generation was based on the rear-wheel drive platform Chrysler LX with components of the Mercedes-Benz W210, including such as the rear suspension design, front seats, steering column, 5-speed automatic transmission design, and 4Matic all-wheel drive system. 300 was also equipped with a front suspension on double wishbones from the Mercedes-Benz W220.
In the US, the model entered the market in 2004 with 6-cylinder engines in the base and mid-range trim levels, and with the 8-cylinder engine in top-end configuration. Later, a sports modification SRT-8, which has a 6.1 liter V8 engine, appeared.
