Haval H6
H6 debuted back in 2011, in 2017 received an heir, and in 2020 - already a “grandson”, that is, a third-generation version. And the most interesting thing is that until recently all three were sold in China in parallel: "grandfather" retired only last year. Moreover, no one bothered with changing the names and adding indexes, so the sales were considered a bargain, for everyone - and this made the H6 not only the most popular model in the Haval line, but also the most popular crossover in China in general!
It got to the point that at the end of 2021, the Haval H6 took seventh place in the list of the most massive crossovers of the entire planet: 370,437 copies were sold.
At the same time, we can safely say that the H6 is a model of a completely different level. With a length of 4653 mm, the crossover is slightly more compact than the Haval F7 known to us, but the wheelbase is slightly larger - 2738 versus 2725 mm. At the same time, the Haval H6 is technically more modern than the Haval F7, because it is built on the fresh LEMON modular architecture - and in a full version, like Dargo, and not a simplified one, like Julion. Hence the independent rear suspension, even on front-wheel drive versions, as well as the steering wheel reach adjustment, which the Jolion lacks.
But "Dargo" has no courage and creativity in the study of the interior of the H6 - the model is positioned as a family model, and it does not need an excessive riot of forms. Hence - a calm and laconic, albeit quite modern architecture, in which the eye has nothing to catch on. The materials (already traditional for Haval) are not bad, but the abundance of glossy black plastic in the most unfortunate places was very embarrassing: it covers not only the central tunnel, but also the armrests on the doors, so the presentation will obviously not last long.
On-board electronics are the same as those of Dargo: a digital instrument panel and a 12-inch multimedia system delight with a juicy picture (there are two design themes with a noticeably different design to choose from), but they are frustrating with slowdowns during operation and a confusing menu organization. And given that the vast majority of functions, including temperature control, are placed here, it will take longer than we would like to learn how to handle the H6. Alas, the non-fixed transmission control washer is also in place - it can be rotated endlessly in both directions, so it is difficult to select the desired mode by touch.
