Hyundai Accent Shares a platform with the third generation Kia Rio. Sold sedan and hatchback. Restyling in 2014 refreshed the exterior and interior; for 1.6 engines, new six-speed manual and automatic transmissions appeared (instead of five- and four-speed ones).

Reasonable price, including repair and maintenance. Mass serial breakdowns were not revealed, all the main units are reliable. Good dynamics with high efficiency; Big trunk.

There are no special complaints about petrol 1.4 (G4FA, 107 hp) and 1.6 (G4FC, 12 3 hp) with variable valve timing. They are naturally noisy, without hydraulic gap compensators in the gas distribution mechanism, warm up slowly in winter, do not tolerate oil starvation, but are problem-free, except for difficult start-up in cold weather.

With a declared resource of 180,000 km, they regularly serve much longer if they are not “turned” and the throttle valve is flushed occasionally. A common drawback is the tendency to overheat due to a radiator clogged with dirt. The timing chain is designed to last "all the time", but may begin to stretch after 100 thousand.

Used engines suffer from oil leakage from under the valve cover and through the crankshaft oil seals. Keep this in mind when choosing a used car: if a leak is found with a declared low mileage, something is wrong here. The 1.4 engine has a short-lived converter: there have been cases of its failure at 50,000–70,000 km.

After restyling, 1.6 engines began to be equipped with six-speed manual and automatic. There are no particular complaints about them either. The main thing is not to forget to change the oil every 50,000–60,000 km: this will extend the life of both the manual and automatic gearboxes.

Cars of the first year of production did not hold well on roads with uneven asphalt at speeds of 100 km / h; Later, the rear suspension was modernized, but the nervous "yaw" at 120–130 km/h remained. Low resource of the steering rack and power steering pump. The weak point in the suspension is wheel bearings, they fail at a run of 15,000–30,000 km. For cold winters, the power of the heating and ventilation system is insufficient - the interior fogs up, heat reaches the rear seats with difficulty. Noises and vibrations when driving in reverse gear (on cars until 2012); when complained, dealers replaced the clutch, although part of the problem lies in the lack of a synchronizer.
