Positioning Citroen C4

On the official Citroen website, the description of the current C4 model takes us back to 1928, recalling 10 car models along the way, which were produced with a total volume of 12.5 million copies. But in order to position and understand the current Citroen C4, we only need to remember Citroen cars from the 2000s-2010s. So, in the early 2000s, the Citroen C4 came out - a traditional C-class car, which was offered in two bodies: a 5-door family hatchback with a calm look or a dynamic, tightened "3-door". However, the heir gets only an option in the form of a 5-door hatchback, and even a rather traditional look. But a huge emphasis was placed on the quality of finishing materials, the car seemed to have grown within the class. The next step again gave us the most original car - Citroen C4 Cactus. The task was to make a C-class hatchback, but on the B-class platform, and even give it a touch of a crossover. However, after the planned update, the Citroen C4 Cactus moderated its ardor a little in design, but it became much more comfortable on the go and received the usual “automatic machines”. He tried to be "normal" again.

The main predecessor cars for the novelty are two generations of the Citroen C4 from the 2000-2010s and the Citroen C4 Cactus. Why is that? Because the novelty is called Citroen C4, the model is positioned in the C-class. But the very idea of the car and the approach to design is reminiscent of the Citroen C4 Cactus: we have a hatchback with crossover features. If you like, the new Citroen C4 is a cross hatchback.
